Shopping malls in Cape Town – South Peninsula
Whilst you don’t necessarily want to be spending all your precious holiday hours at the local mall, wasting your time searching for shopping malls in Cape Town can be a pain in the neck, especially if you’re visiting on holiday. Save this post for later so you can plan your self-catering holiday in advance.
Sometimes it’s worth doing One Big Shop so you can focus on the much more important task of where to set up camp on the beach. On the other hand, if you need a bit of a break from the sun, or fancy a family meal and a movie, it’s comforting to know that there are a few great choices down the South Peninsula.

To help you work out your Shopping Mall game plan, we have rounded up 6 Shopping malls in Cape Town specifically in the South Peninsula, so you don’t have to do the digging.
Holiday shopping tips:
- Don’t forget your reusable shopping bags from home, save yourself the frustration and add them to the holiday packing list.
- Plan your meals on holiday so that you know exactly what grocery aisles to hit when you arrive, saves having to decide on the spot and forgetting the essentials.
- Write a list, and stick to it! You will shave hours off your mall visit if you stay focused on the shops that you need things from, instead of aimlessly browsing away during prime surfing conditions.
- If the whole family is tagging along, split up into teams, with a budget and get all your shopping done in a fraction of the time! Incentivise ‘teams’ with an ice cream on the beach if you stay under budget.
- If you’re going out for family dinner and a movie, encourage everyone to leave their phones at home!
